Cut, crop, colour

In hairstyles, Spring/Summer 2010 is laidback, fuss-free and geometric:
The fashion forecast for hairstyles in Spring/ Summer 2010 looks bright, sunny and toned down, with a possibility of fun. Like other things, in hair trends too, we can expect some carryovers from last season. The fringe, the biggest comeback star last season, continues. “This time though, it will be fringes that sit well on the face. They're a little more finer and something that can be pulled back and clipped,” says Najeeb-ur-Rehman, national technical head, Schwarzkopf Professional.
As a departure from the very ‘in' bob, the focus is on mid to longer length hair. “The colours are more wearable – earthy tones like browns, beiges, neutralised blond,” he says. “One will also see partial highlights in tones of red,” adds Rehman.
In hair colouring, while it's usually a choice between streaks and global colouring, this time it's the best of both worlds. “Instead of streaking we are doing geometrical sections, which will be characterised by the highlighting of particular sections,” says the hair expert.
Part II of Schwarzkopf's ongoing winter collection comprises four looks – New Romance (a 40s-inspired collection. Read soft curls and old Hollywood glamour), 80s Luxe, Out of Shape (asymmetrical, new-age) and The Dark Amazons (a Goth-inspired look).
“In hair cuts the dual look is in, between casual and semi-formal. It's more sporty, more handy,” is his verdict.
