Soul singer Amy Winehouse's mortal remains were laid to rest at a private funeral service yesterday. The singer's grieving dad Mitch gave a moving eulogy at the funeral, leaving everyone gathered to bid goodbye to the singer chocked with tears.
Mitch said that her daughter had made fantastic recovery and had given up drugs three years ago. “She was trying hard to deal with her drinking and had just completed three weeks of abstinence. She said, 'Dad, I've had enough of drinking. I can't stand the look on your and the family's faces any more',” The Sun quoted him as saying. “She was the happiest she has been for years,” he added.
And chocked in grieve, the 60-year-old cabbie bid farewell to his beloved daughter saying, “Goodnight my angel, sleep tight. Mummy and Daddy love you ever so much.”
